Witty former deputy Minister for Local Government Maxwell Kofi Jumah has advised all those who voted for the ruling NDC, and in his estimation have succeeded in dragging the progress of the nation backwards, to go on their knees to apologise to Ghanaians and also beg God for forgiveness.
The former Minister, a former Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly chief executive officer was speaking in an interview on LIGHT FM, a Kumasi-based radio station where questions pertaining to politics were thrown at him at will.
Mr. Jumah thought the present economic malaise has been brought about because, instead of continuing with where the departed NPP left off, the present government is wasting so mush time and effort on nothingness.
He explained that the precarious state of affairs has further been deepened by the fact of a continuing global recession, that has offered third world economies the quake it could do without. Ex-Minister Jumah recommended a hands-on-deck approach at fixing the situation rather than the NDC trademark of diverting attention by the exhibition of razzmatazz, just to attract applause from the gallery.
When reminded that all who served as stewards in the past J.A. Kufuor administration would be put under the microscope for a no-holes-barred scrutiny to be performed of their stewardship while in government, Mr. Jumah said he was ready and willing to go through whatever process of stock-taking. Ex-Minister Jumah wittingly stated that at the end of such a stock-taking exercise the state will discover that it owes him so much, both in physical terms and gratitude-wise.
A sitting parliamentarian at Asokwa West in the Ashanti region, honourable Jumah had lived in the United States for so long and returned home to head the hot KMA CEO seat where he took the once GARDEN CITY of WEST AFRICA through some notable development projects, befitting the status of a modern metropolis by third world standards.
His rise to the portfolio of deputy Minister was punctuated with fraternal links with football’s supporters’ groupings, and very many political caucuses down the socio-political ladder.
