NDC to raise standards of education in Prestea- Candidate

Prestea (W/R) Dec 3, GNA- Mr John Kwaku Akakpo, the parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Prestea/Huni- Valley, has pledged to allocate a chunk of his share of the Member of Parliament (MP) Common Fund, to support educational drive in the Constituency if is voted as MP.

He said he would also lobby for more teachers to be posted to schools in the remote areas to the raise standards of education. Mr Akakpo, who was speaking at a political rally at Prestea, said he would mobilise petty traders into co-operative groups to give them access to credit facilities.

He debunked the rumour that he was a Togolese, saying he is a Wassaw who had stayed in Wassa for the past 39 years.

Mr Michael Gbedema, the Constituency Chairman of the NDC told the party supporters to exhibit high sense of decorum to ensure peaceful Presidential and Parliamentary elections on December 7.

He asked the electorate to vote for the NDC presidential candidate, Professor Atta Mills and the party’s parliamentary candidate.
