NDC Primaries: Sam George attacked; one arrested

A parliamentary aspirant in the Ningo-Prampram constituency Sam George has allegedly been assaulted by people believed to be supporters of his opponent E.T Mensah.

The presidential staffer and the incumbent MP have been at each other’s throat since the inception of campaigns for the parliamentary slot in the ruling National Democratic Congress.

The elections in the constituency has been suspended following claims that the register was deficient and did not contain names of several of the party’s registered members in the constituency.

George, in an interview told the media that the personal bodyguard of Mr. Mensah assaulted him.

Starr News’ Benjamin Amuzu who is following developments in the constituency said George has a “swollen eye” but cannot confirm who attacked him.

Meanwhile, one person, identified only as Habib has reportedly been arrested over the incident
