NDC can’t do the work, Akufo-Addo will – Kufuor

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor says the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has demonstrated they lack the capacity to rule the nation by their failure to implement even a single policy beneficial to Ghanaians.

He said many of the projects the government is touting as achievements today were started during his term in office when the NPP drew up plans and secured funding for the implementation of major developmental projects.

Yet the NDC, upon merely completing them, are claiming credit, Mr Kufuor said. He was speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, a Twi programme on Thursday.

The former president could not hide his disappointment with the NDC’s performance when he stated: I haven’t seen what they have done in four years; I can’t count any policy they’ve implemented.

They [NDC] only continued with what we [NPP] had started, If your father secures funding for a building project and you come and continue, do you claim all the credit? He asked.

As far as the former president was concerned, the NPP has better programmes that will in reality improve the lives of the masses.

I have realised the NDC cannot do the work, it was Akufo-Addo who helped me in everything I did, therefore I believe he can continue with my good work. He has promised and I am in full support of what he wants to do for Ghana.

Mr. Kufuor said it was a deliberate distortion for the NDC to argue that once previous president’s served two terms, the Mahama NDC government deserved same.

He cited former United Stated Presidents Jimmy Carter and George Bush Snr. who both served only one term because the American people did not think that they did enough to deserve a second term.
