Nayele’s ‘powerful people’ will never be found – Aning

Security Analyst Dr Kwesi Aning has said the so called powerful people Nayele Ametefe claims have been supporting her drugs trade since 2004 will never be found.

The 32-year-old Ghanaian lady was handed an eight-year jail term by a UK court for illegally possessing and transporting cocaine, a charge she pleaded guilty to.

She told the Isleworth Crown Court in the UK, Tuesday, before her jail term was announced that she has been backed by ‘powerful people’ in society since 2004 but failed to mention names.

Speaking on the Ultimate Breakfast Show, with host Prince Minkah Thursday, Dr Aning said the claims by Ametefe in court was unfortunate.

“It’s probably one of the single most disturbing statement to have come out of any singular narcotics case.

“This is the first time a courier has specifically made such statements, and it’s very important,” he stated.

He noted that even though there are suspicions that key people in society may be involved in the drug trade, it’s strange for a courier to make such remarks in court.

When asked if he believes the alleged powerful accomplices will be arrested by the securities agencies, the Head of Research at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre said “no”.
