National Hajj Committee to brief media on new Hajj law

Alhaji Alhassan Benne, Chairman of the National Hajj Committee said the committee would on Thursday hold a press conference to brief Ghanaian Muslims on the new law governing pilgrimage to Mecca.

The law implemented by the Saudi authorities states that females intending pilgrimage to the Kingdom would be detained and deported if they are not accompanied by male guardians or Muharams, in accordance with Saudi laws.

About two million Muslims globally converge on the sacred land of Mecca annually to go through spiritual rites.
