Nana Addo has promised me appointment in the energy sector – Edward Ennin

Former Member of Parliament for Obuasi East has disclosed that President Akufo Addo has promised to appoint him to any of the sectors at the Energy Ministry.

According to Edward Ennin, he had a closed door meeting with the president and was asked which sector he wanted to be appointed to and the former MP mentioned the energy sector.

He was speaking to host of Abusua Nkommo, Kwame Adinkrah during the morning on a number of issues regarding appointments by the president.

Edward Ennin said, “during my discussions with the president, he asked which office I wanted and I mentioned the energy sector.”

He adds, “the president thought I will chose the mining area but I said no because a big mining company will soon appoint me as board director and I don’t want to find myself in conflict of interest.”

“Possibly, I would have been appointed to the Minerals Commissions and this would have compromised my position and so I decided on the energy sector instead…maybe electricity or something,” he explained.
