NADMO plots to rig elections- Ken Agyapong

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin North, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has accused the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) of plotting to rig Friday’s poll by packing ballot papers and boxes to the Northern region.

Addressing residents and party supporters at an NPP rally in the Northern regional capital, Tamale, Mr Agyapong claimed, “around 9 pm in Accra, the workers of NADMO have been packing ballot boxes, ballot papers and motorbikes and have been transporting them to the Northern region with the aim of preventing the Electoral Commission (EC) from conveying the ballot boxes to the polling stations by putting them on the motorbikes.”

“We are not going to allow any individual to pick the ballot boxes to the polling station.”

The NPP firebrand advised party supporters to be vigilant because “Ghana belongs to all of us. It is not for a few individuals. Today, there is so much talk about peace. I support peace…if there is no justice, there is no peace. We want justice.”

Mr Agyapong also gave the assurance that the NPP was a party which had the interest of the nation at heart, especially the youth.

“So I am pleading with the youth of this region [Northern region]; December 7 don’t be intimidated. They [NDC] are coming with all sorts of tricks, they want to intimidate us but trust me. With God on our side, we are going to resist every intimidation in this region,” he added.
