Murder at funeral, two before court

Agbozume, May 15, GNA – Adewaley Sosu, 32, an auto mechanic and Kofi Bruce, 35, a kente weaver, both residents of a village near Agbozume were put before the Agbozume Magistrate court for allegedly murdering a man during a brawl. They are facing a provisional charge of murder. Lumorvi Gbeti, 64, farmer and alleged accomplice was charged with abetment.

Their pleas were not taken and were remanded in prison custody until May 31. Mr Sylvanus Kudolo, Assistant Superintendent of Police at Agbozume, told the court that the deceased, Kwablavi Mileba, 43, and the accused persons attended a funeral at Nyomikope near Agbozume on April 29. He said the accused persons were displeased with Nyemedinyao, the deceased’s brother, for sending his personal drum home during the funeral and engaged him (Nyemedinyao) in a brawl. Mileba intervened in the scuffle and was beaten to death by Sosu and Bruce who were urged on by Gbeti.
