Mrs Baiden-Amissah elected NPP candidate for Shama

Shama (W/R), April 30, GNA – Mrs Georgina Baiden-Amissah, Member of Parliament for Shama and Deputy Minister of Education Science and Sports, has been re-elected the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Shama.

She was acclaimed at the party’s delegates’ meeting at which she was the only candidate who filed her papers at the close of nomination. Having won the Shama parliamentary seat for two consecutive terms on the ticket of the NPP, she promised to work harder than before to bring more development to the area if given the nod once again.

Mrs Baiden-Amissah said during her two terms in parliament, the area had seen a lot of development in the areas of education, sanitation and local government among others and called for support for the NPP in the December election.

Nana Owusu Ankomah, Western Regional Chairman of the party, called for unity among NPP supporters and said it was only through unity, hard work and sacrifice that the party would win the election convincingly.
