MP donates pens to BECE candidates

Mr Bright Demordzi, the Member of Parliament for Bortianor/Ngleshie Amanfro Constituency, has donated 500 boxes of branded pens to candidates of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) within his constituency.

He said the donation was to encourage and motivate them to do well.

Over 6,000 school children within the Ga South Municipality on Monday, June 16, 2015, joined their counterparts countrywide to sit for the 2015 BECE.

Mr Demordzi urged the candidates to aim higher in their academic pursuits, saying that, “it is not about the name of the schools one attends but your final output that will make one stand tall among one’s peers”.

All the examination centres visited in the Bortianor and Ngleshie-Amanfro communities recorded no examination related incident.

Mrs Magaret Frimpong Kore, the Ga South Municipal Director of Education, who was also touring the centres at the same time, said she was very glad everything was going on smoothly, except of the intermittent rains.

“My fear was that most the candidates are staying at places where the rain could lock them up but we are happy that we have not incurred any such challenges,” she said, and urged the candidates to do their best.
