Mills was my comrade, mentor and friend – John Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama has described the late Professor John Evans Atta Mills as his comrade, mentor and friend.

Today marks exactly five years when the late president died and the day has been set aside by the Atta Mills memorial committee to remember him with a public lecture and to lay wreaths at his tomb.

But Former President Mahama who was his vice till he died on July 24, 2012, on his official facebook wall wrote Prof Mills: “comrade, mentor and friend”

Speaking at the wreath laying ceremony earlier on Monday held at the Asomdwee’ park, the former president said he believes the late Professor Mills is in heaven

‘I feel happy that he’s in heaven and that he is looking down on us, and that Ghana continues to make progress and that we must all continue to work together to make our nation great and strong. I miss him (Prof Mills) very much, well you cannot talk about a degree, I missed him very much,’ he told GhOne’s Kafui Dey.
