Make sacrifices for the good of society – Archbishop

Catholic Metropolitan Archbishop of Kumasi, the Most Reverend Justice Gabriel Yaw Anokye, has asked Ghanaians to accept to make sacrifices for the collective good of the society.

He said, as Christians join the rest of the world to celebrate Easter, they should appreciate the important lessons of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion.

Archbishop Anokye called on Christians to be inspired by the death of Christ on the cross to uphold strong values of love, selflessness and service.

Archbishop Anokye said this in a message delivered to the congregation at the Saint Peter’s Cathedral on Good Friday.

He encouraged Christians to have empathy for the poor, the vulnerable and the destitute and to do everything to support and aid them to live in dignity.

They should also be patriotic and actively participate in community development activities.

“We are blessed for the Easter and all the benefits in it. Let us continue to pray for the nation for its growth and remain blessed by God,” he added.
