Lets work together irrespective of political differences – Cudjoe

Mr Robert Wisdom Cudjoe, the Prestea Huni Valley District Chief Executive, has called on all Ghanaians to come together irrespective of their political, religious or ethnic differences.

Mr Cudjoe made this known when he was speaking at the 55th Independence Day celebration under the theme: Sustaining Peace and Unity for National Development at Bogoso.

He said since the attainment of Independence in 1957, Ghana has established herself as the Star of Africa and a beacon of hope for the entire black race.

He said the country’s achievements in democratic governance in recent times have also showcased the country as a shining example on the African Continent.

Mr Cudjoe used the opportunity to call on all stakeholders and Ghanaians to do everything to sustain the peace and unity of the country before and after the 2012 general elections and called on all to tolerate the views of one another and avoid seeing political opponents as enemies.

As part of the Independence Day Celebration, JHS and SHS candidates who excelled in the Basic Education Certificate and Examination (BECE) and West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) awarded with deserving prizes.

At the Senior High level, Obed Mensah Banyin of St Augustine Senior High School (AUGUSCO) Bogoso was adjudged the best student in the 2011 WASSCE and received a cash prize of three hundred Ghana Cedis.

He was followed by Raphael Belloh from the same school and he received a cash of two hundred Ghana Cedis.

At the JHS level Daniel Adjei Mensah of Nana Amoakwa Model School, Damang was adjudged the best BECE candidate and had cash prize of three hundred Ghana Cedis, followed by Isaac Oduro of the same school who also had a cash of two hundred and fifty Ghana Cedis. The third position went to Leticia Atieku of Golden Star D/A school complex, Bogoso who received a cash of two hundred Ghana cedis.
