Leaders must use Easter to reflect on actions

Christians in leadership positions have been reminded to use the Easter period to reflect on their activities and their effects on the country.

Reverend Samuel Oware-Dweteh, Head Pastor of the New Life Community Baptist Church at Bethlehem near Tema, said Christian leaders must let their deeds reflect the significance of Jesus Christ’s death for the world.

Rev Oware-Dwetey, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said they must live to please God, instead of pursuing their selfish interests.

He cautioned Christians not to see leadership as an opportunity to cheat, steal and satisfy their material wants.

He said they must emulate Christ’s example of sacrificing to mankind, and humbling Himself while on earth, even though He has authority over everything.

Rev Oware-Dwetey said even though there was hope for Ghana, things were not going on well for the country because of the actions of the people.

He added that it was about time Ghanaians rethought through their actions, to enable them correct their wrongs and enjoy the favour of God upon the nation.

The Reverend Minister also reminded Ghanaians, especially the Youth, to observe the Easter festivities in a solemn mood, instead of engaging in merry-making and immoral activities.

Rev Oware-Dwetey encouraged Christians to preach the saving power of God to unbelievers, especially during Easter period.
