Landlord arrested for burning NDC flag

A landlord in Kumasi has found himself in the grips of the law for allegedly setting an NDC flag on fire.

Kwabena Badu, 34, a landlord at Cedar Crescent area, opposite the Sunrise Hotel, was said to have been caught and sent to the police by eight NDC supporters for burning an NDC flag.

ASP Yussif Mohammed Tanko of the Public Relations Office of the Ashanti Regional Police Command said the suspect, after interrogation, was granted bail on Friday and he would report to the police on Monday.

The suspect reportedly engaged the eight NDC supporters in a verbal brawl on Thursday around 10:30 p.m. when they tried to hoist the party’s flag on a pole which was in front of his house.

The NDC fans went ahead and hoisted the flag on the pole after which they continued hoisting other NDC flags on the other poles in the area.

In the course of hoisting the flags, the NDC fans allegedly, saw the suspect climbing the pole in front of his house to remove the NDC flag from it.

Mr. Badu, reportedly, then set the NDC flag on fire to the chagrin of the eight supporters of the ruling political party.

The incensed NDC fans then grabbed him and sent him to the police for the law to deal with him.
