A labourer who had anal sex with a seven-year-old boy in the bush at Asofan, near Ofankor has been sentenced to 18 years imprisonment by an Accra Circuit Court.
Francis Osei-Boateng, charged with defilement, pleaded not guilty.
ASP Acquah said on August 29 the victim and his friend aged 11 went out in the afternoon to look for the victim’s brother who had gone out to play.
Prosecution said the victim and his friend did not see the brother but while returning home, they passed in front of an uncompleted building where the accused person lives.
According to the prosecution, Osei-Boateng deceitfully sent the victim’s friend to buy him fried yam with the promise that he would give him Ghc 1.00 when he returns.
Prosecution said Osei–Boateng however asked the victim to accompany him to a nearby bush where he removed his pants, asked him to bend down and had annal sex with him.
The victim informed his parents when he returned home and the convict was arrested.
