Ghana midfielder Kwasi Sibo has penned an emotional message after making his debut for the Black Stars in their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Mali.
The Real Oviedo player, who was handed a late call-up following injuries and suspensions in the squad, started alongside Thomas Partey in midfield as Ghana edged out Mali 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Reflecting on the moment, Sibo described his first outing in national colours as unforgettable.
“There are no words to describe what I have experienced these past few days. Thank you to each and every one of you who has brought me here,” he wrote. “I hope this is the beginning of a wonderful adventure. I am proud and grateful for the welcome I have received from my teammates and my country. It is the best gift possible.”
The 26-year-old’s assured display drew praise from head coach Otto Addo, who hailed him as a “warrior” and tipped him for a bright future with the Black Stars.
Ghana’s victory over Mali strengthened their grip at the top of Group I, with the team now focused on their final qualifying fixtures in October against the Central African Republic and Comoros.
