Kwaebibrem District to establish health insurance scheme

Kade (E/R), Oct. 13, GNA- The Kwaebibirem District Health Insurance Scheme will take off next month with registration of beneficiaries.

This was announced by the District Director of Health Services, Mr Odame Asiedu at a general meeting of members of the public at Kade. The meeting adopted the scheme’s draft constitution, logo and motto: “good health promotes development”.

Co-ordinator of the scheme, Mr Samuel Nugblega, said the objective of the scheme was to provide access to health care for its members and that it is opened to all persons in the district.

He said benefits would be limited to healthcare delivery at state medical institutions including laboratory investigations, minor surgical procedures, X’rays, basic drugs on the “Essential Drug List”, among others.

Barima Owusu Nkansah II, Prampumahene who chaired the meeting, called on people in the district to embrace the scheme to make it a success since they stood to gain immensely from it.
