Kumasi Polytechnic SRC donates bus to school

Kumasi, May 22, GNA- The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of Kumasi Polytechnic has donated a 30-seater Toyota Coaster bus worth 640 million cedis to the institute at a ceremony in Kumasi. The bus, which was bought from the contributions of students of the polytechnic, is meant to facilitate academic work and activities of the students.

Making the donation, Mr. Bright Dela Senoo, SRC President, commended his colleagues for the commitment with which they contributed towards the purchase of the bus and hoped it would help address the transportation problems faced by non-resident students.

He disclosed that the SRC in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship and Finance Department of the Polytechnic had instituted a five-year strategic business plan, which was aimed at boosting the financial base of the Council.

Mr. Senoo said among the projects to be executed under the plan includes revamping the polytechnic’s radio station, construction of a supermarket as well as a multi-purpose students’ hostel. Receiving the bus, Dr Benjamin Kwasi Prah, Principal of the school lauded the gesture of the students and hoped the vehicle would be put to good use.
