KPMG to reply Supreme Court on pink sheets audit

Accounting firm KPMG is expected to officially respond to the Supreme Court’s formal request for it to re-count the pink sheet exhibits in the ongoing Presidential Election Petition hearing, Monday.

The court formally wrote to the firm last Friday to undertake the review exercise after the presiding Judge Justice Atuguba had ordered an audit into the exhibits submitted by the petitioners.

This followed a challenge of the figures by lawyers for the respondents.

Joy News sources have confirmed that KPMG received the formal request on the same day.

Now that the accounting firm has been officially informed of the assignment, it would be putting a team together for the audit.

It would also be expected to quote its price for the job. Meanwhile Joy Business sources estimate the audit could cost $100, 000.
