Korle Bu staff to demonstrate on March 6

Members of the Korle Bu Senior Staff Association (KOSSA) will hit the streets on Friday, March 6 to demand better conditions of service.

The demonstration will be dubbed: “Demo Care for Staff”.

This was disclosed to TV3’s Daniel Opoku by the President of KOSSA, Charles Offei Palm, in an interview on Friday, January 30.

This comes on the back of investigations to be conducted by Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) into alleged misappropriation of funds by ten staff members including the Director of Pharmacy at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH), Elizabeth Bruce.

“We will endeavor to address all these in-adequacies and concomitant losses/leakages of much needed revenue, not only at the pharmacy, but different units and departments of the hospital,” a statement from the management on Thursday, January 29 said after a forensic audit was conducted between January 1, 2010 and May 31, 2014.

Mr Palm said the demonstration – to coincide with Ghana’s 58th independence anniversary celebrations – will demand an improved condition of service for staff.
