Komla Dumor was an excellent role-model – Samia Nkrumah

Chairperson for Convention People’s Party and daughter of Ghana’s First President, Samia Yabba Nkrumah, is still in shock and has not come to terms with the sudden death of BBC television ‘Focus on Africa’ anchor, Komla Dumor.

Dumor 41, died January 18 in London from what was reported as cardiac arrest.

Saturday, at the forecourt of the state house where his funeral service took place, the former MP for Jomoro and other dignitaries including the President of Republic of Ghana, described Komla Dumor as a shining star and irreplaceable icon.

Emotional Samia Nkrumah told Evans Mensah of JoyFm that Komla Dumor like Kwame Nkrumah and Nelson Mandela, lived a life that show ‘Africans capable of managing their own affairs’

“Dumor’s beautiful smiles, his versatility, he was an excellent role model, and this is how we want to see our children”
