Two fresh faces have been handed their maiden Black Stars call-ups as Ghana head coach Otto Addo named his 24-man squad for the decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against the Central African Republic and Comoros.
OGC Nice defender Kojo Oppong and Medeama SC midfielder Prince Owusu are the latest players to join the national team set-up, marking a big step in their careers. Oppong, who has been in fine form in Ligue 1, strengthens Ghana’s defensive options, while Owusu’s inclusion rewards his consistent displays in the Ghana Premier League.
The Black Stars face the Central African Republic in Meknès, Morocco, on 8 October before returning home to play Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium on 12 October in a must-win encounter.
Coach Otto Addo believes the blend of debutants and experienced players will give Ghana the right balance heading into the crucial games.
The pair will be eager to make an impression as Ghana push to secure qualification for the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
