Kofi Annan Visiting Finland

Former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan is arriving to Finland on the invitation of the former Finnish President Martti Ahtisaari to participate in the tenth anniversary seminar of the Ahtisaari-led Crisis Management Initiative (CMI).

The anniversary seminar of the non-profit organisation chaired by Nobel Peace Prize laureate Ahtisaari takes place on Tuesday at the Finnish National Theatre.

The seminar is also the first event in the Ahtisaari Days, which are aimed at making Finnish mediation work more widely known, with a particular emphasis on the importance of education, information and communications.

The Ahtisaari Days include three parts: international experts’ gathering at the anniversary seminar, a public event and events organised at schools.
