KNUST students in car crash: Driver dies, students injured

Some students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) have been involved in an accident on the Kumasi-Obuasi road.

Friday night’s crash occurred when the bus on which they were travelling had a head-on collision with an oncoming vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle is reported to have died while at least 10 other people, including students, got severely injured.

The students, mainly executives of the KNUST chapter of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), were on their way to the union’s congress at the Akrokere training college, also in the Ashanti region.

The injured students are receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye teaching hospital.

The congress is ongoing despite the accident.
