Klottey Korle, Okaikoi South NPP primaries to be cleared on Sunday

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has set Sunday, August 2 for the parliamentary primaries in two constituencies in the Greater Accra Region: Klottey Korle and Okaikoi South.

Injunction suits filed on the eve of the primaries last Friday prevented delegates from voting on Saturday, July 25.

But a statement issued by General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong on Friday, July 31 said “per the court ruling dismissing injunction applications, parliamentary primaries will be held…”

The contest in Klottey Korle has become a two-horse race between former constituency chairman, Nii Noi Nortey, and Phillip Addison, who led NPP’s counsel in the landmark election petition case.

Incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) Ahmed Arthur and Vicky Bright will also battle out in Okaikoi South.

“We wish all the aspirants the best of luck,” the statement concluded.
