Kenyase number one celebrates “Kuntukunu Adee”

The Omanhene of Kenyase Number OneTraditional Area in the Asutifi District, Nana
Osei Kofi Abiri, has advocated unity within the area to ensure that peace prevail
for accelerated development.
He asked all his subjects to resolve peacefully all prolonged disputes that have the
tendency to divide the traditional area.”I call on all my sub chiefs, elders and the
people in my area to ensure that peace prevails by amicably resolving long standing
disputes”.
Nana Osei Koif Abiri said this during the annual celebration of the Kuntunkunu
Adee, which commemorates the efforts of their fore fathers towards the development
of the area.

During the celebration of the Kuntukunu Adee, the Omanhene and his subjects wear
black or red cloths and take stock of the contributions made by their forefathers.
The Omanhene emphasised that the contributions of their forefathers can not go
without any form of remenbrance and appealed to the people avoid the unsubstantiated
aurguements that forfathers of the area did nothing to develop the area.
He said that ” Nananom have contributed immersely to the development of our
community and it is very proper to recall and honour them for the selfless
effortsthey made to build our community”.
Nana Kofi Abiri emphasised that the efforts of their ancesters led to the discovery
of gold in the area which is an indication of how their forefathers contributed to
development.
Nana Abiri challenged leaders in the community to lead an exemplary lives so that
the young ones could emulateOn education,he advised the youth in the area to take
their studies serious and take advantage of educational to enable them gain good
employment especially with the mining company in the area.
The Omanhene also stressed the need for Nananom in his area to embark on intensive
public awareness programmes to minimise fire out breaks which have over the years
destroyed properies worth several millions of cedis.
