JCI donates to Pantang Hospital

Accra, Sept. 27, GNA – The Accra Chapter of Junior Chamber International (JCI), a worldwide federation of young leaders and entrepreneurs, has donated items worth GH¢5,000 and an undisclosed amount of money to the Pantang Hospital, to help alleviate the plight of inmates there. The items that included student mattresses, books and clothing were donated in honour of the late Dr Samuel Allottey for his dedication to the Hospital. The President of Accra Chapter of JCI, Cyrille Aka, said the group made donations to help promote the livelihood of the needy in society. He asked the authorities of the hospital to distribute the items fairly to the inmates. Mr. Peter Anim, the Clinical Co-ordinator of the hospital, thanked JCI for the gesture and appealed to other organisations to assist the hospital.

Members, including JCI Project Co-ordinator of Greater Accra JCI, Mrs. Veronica Mills Lamptey, President of JCI Ghana, Ruby Essilfie-Kumi and the Deputy President of JCI, Paa Kwesi Inkumsah, interacted with the patients at the hospital.

Most of the items donated to the patients were from A-Z Woman Series, an organisation that has been organising seminars for women in society free of charge.

JCI is a worldwide federation of young leaders and entrepreneurs in over 100 countries contributing to the advancement of the global community by empowering young men and women to develop their leadership skills, social responsibility, entrepreneurship and fellowship necessary to create positive change.
