ISD joins cholera campaign in VR

The Information Services Department (ISD) in the Volta Region, has embarked on a “special exercise” to sensitize the public on good sanitation practices, to halt the continuous increase of cholera cases in the region.

Cholera cases in the region are said to have gone up from 201 in September to 400 with six deaths.

A press release signed by Mr Wellington Gidisu, Regional Information Officer and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said three mobile cinema vans would be deployed to cover the 25 districts in the region to help “stop cholera now.”

The statement said the two-month campaign would focus on education, open defecation, and personal hygiene.
