I’m not aware of any ‘step aside’ letter to Afoko, Agyepong – Harona Esseku

A member of the Council of Elders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Harona Esseku has denied claims that the Council has formally written to the beleaguered national chairman of the party, Paul Afoko and General secretary Kwabena Agyepong to step aside.

Mr Esseku told StarrFMonline.com on Wednesday that he has “not been invited to any meeting” and is “not aware of any letter” written to the two national executives.

Reports are rife that the Council has written to the top executives following the confusion that has rocked the party over the past few days.

Six regional branches of the party have passed a vote of no confidence in Afoko and Agyepong following their alleged involvement in the killing of the Upper East regional chairman of the party, Adams Mahama.

Meanwhile, another member of the Council Dr Adjei Bawuah has told Kafui Dey on Morning Starr that even though they have intervened in the raging development, he is unable to confirm if it was through a formal or informal means.
