I’m a self-made man, politics didn’t make me – Adu-Asare

Presidential staffer, Kojo Adu-Asare, has rubbished claims that he embezzled funds while he served as the chairman of the protocol and Supporters Welfare Sub-committee during Ghana’s preparation for the 2014 World cup.

According to the former Adentan MP who has appeared before the commission investigating Ghana’s poor showing at the tournament, it is unfair for people without adequate knowledge on the terms of reference of his committee to accuse them of financial misappropriation.

“It is saddening that you work for the nation whole-heartedly and all you hear on radio is that you have embezzled money, it’s disheartening,” he stated.

He expressed concern about what he believes is the hasty branding of politicians as corrupt by the media.

“Sometimes I feel sad about the things I hear about me on radio. Some of us were well established before we joined politics. I was doing well with my business before deciding to enter public service, ” the head of the Youth Enterprise Support fund told Adom FM on Tuesday.
