‘I will contest again’- Abu Sakara

The 2012 Presidential Candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Dr. Abu Sakara says he will contest the Presidency again in 2016 on the ticket of the CPP.

Speaking to Citi News, Dr. Sakara says the CPP stands a better chance of improving in future elections.

The CPP in the 2012 election only managed to poll 20,000 votes out of 11 million total votes across the country.

Though many seem to have given up on the electoral fortunes of the party; Dr. Abu Sakara says the CPP has what it takes to win elections in Ghana.

“My strategy for growing the CPP is not to say that because we have not done well, we should just fold up and join the NDC,” he stated.

Mr. Sakara further stated: “It may well be that what we continue to represent as an alternative vision is still relevant for the entire Nkrumaism wellbeing that if we work out a strategic alliance for the future, it will work out to the benefit of the CPP”.
