I queue to buy food at Ashesi – Patrick Awuah

The founder of Ashesi University Patrick Awuah has revealed that he queues to buy his food on the campus of the school he founded.

According to him, he does not find it fair and proper to sidestep others to purchase his food simply because he owns the institution.

“I join the queue to buy my own food when I am on campus. And I do it because that is who I am; I haven’t changed because of status. I believe that is the best way to bond with people.

“I drive myself when going to work and I carry my luggage at the airport. I only started flying first class recently because I want to appear at my meetings looking fresh,” the entrepreneur told Bola Ray on Starr Chat Wednesday.

He also noted that his biggest challenge while starting the now model school was how to attract students.

“How to get students was one of biggest challenges. At a point in time, I had to pretend like a student in other universities to understand the trend in Ghana.”

Ashesi University is a private, non-profit liberal arts college located in Brekuso, Ghana.
