I have not resigned; my email was hacked – K. Agyepong

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party, Kwabena Agyepong, has strongly denied reports of his resignation from the party.

In an interview with Kasapa 102.3.5FM Tuesday, Mr. Agyepong told host of Simi So Kwaku Owusu Agyei that he has not resigned and would never resign from the party.

The statement which was sent to several media houses with an official letter head of the party read “It is extremely heart-breaking and deterring to learn that my own colleagues take to the media to belittle the General Secretary of their own Party.

“I do not regret any decision I have taken since I was elected as General Secretary as all decisions have been in the interest of the Party. However, I cannot continue to serve the Party in my capacity as General Secretary.”

But Mr. Agyepong in a reaction said he is ready to serve his full term and is not considering leaving the party.

According to him, he has been at home all day and suspects his email might have been hacked by some unscrupulous persons within the party who are bent on kicking him out of office.
