I don’t see the future of 2015 Budget – Casely-Hayford

Financial Analyst, Sydney Casely-Hayford has described the 2015 budget statement as a ‘futureless’ budget.

“We will all be here and they will come and tell us they were not able to achieve any of the things they said in the budget. They keep repeating things and not achieving any of them. This budget is not going to help the person on the street. It is going to rather help government in raising more revenue and I don’t even know what they use it for” he intimated.

The Finance Minister, Seth Terkper on Wednesday presented to Parliament, the budget statement and economic policy for the year 2015.

The budget touched on several issues including the approval of a 17.5% tax on petroleum products, government to issue energy bonds, construction of 200 SHS by 2016 and so on.

Speaking to the content of the budget statement on Thursday’s edition of Kokrokoo, Casely-Hayford said even there were some ‘good things’ in the budget, “I don’t have anything positive in the budget to be happy about. I am so disappointed.
