I don’t mind if NPP rules for 8 years – NDC’s ex Campaign Spokesperson

The spokesperson for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Madam Joyce Bawa Mogtari has said she won’t be bothered should the ruling New Patriotic Party rules for eight years (8).

Speaking with Bola Ray on Starr Chat, Wednesday, the former Deputy Minister for Transport disclosed that for the NPP to rule in government from 2016 to 2024 is normal and shows the beauty of Ghana’s democracy.

“Well I don’t really mind if NPP rules for eight (8) years, it’s democracy and really not an issue. When they lost, you can imagine how they felt when we moved into Flagstaff House and I know the feeling… We’ve all been there and that is the beauty of our democracy.”

Sharing her opinion on whether ex President Mahama should contest for presidency again, she noted, “Well we’ve not discussed that but of course it’s a common notion out there and people talk about it. I would love for him to contest since after 2020, 2024 he (Mahama) will still be relatively a young man.”

Mogtari a lawyer by profession was called to the bar in 2000 and she started her career with the firm Sey & Co. Later she became a consultant for KPMG and the Venture Capital Trust Fund.

She is an experienced mediator and has done this on several occasion both locally and internationally. Since 2007 until she was appointed a deputy minister by ex President Mahama, she has served as the head of Ghana Shippers’ Authority.
