Accra, Feb 23. GNA- Workers of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs on Wednesday asked the re-alignment of their salaries to analogous grade in the judicial service on which they were before the introduction of the Price Water House.
The workers poured out their displeasure at an open forum at a day’s workshop organised for the chieftaincy institution to educate them on new ideas regarding the service.
It was attended by 50 workers of the Greater Accra Regional House of chiefs.
The workers said, “After the Price Water House, we realised a clear departure from the normal grading system which is a serious anomaly”.
They said strenuous efforts to put things right had not been of to no avail and urged the authorities responsible to rectify the present disorder in their working conditions to reflect the realities of the times.
Mr. Emmanuel O. Marfo, Director, Chieftaincy Division, assured the workers that their grievances would be channelled to the right authorities for redress.
He however, urged them to upgrade their skills and improve upon their knowledge to be suitable to occupy the right positions. Mr. M. L. K Animley, Registrar, Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs said the success of any organisation largely depended on the efficiency of the operators.
He therefore, urged the staff to attach seriousness to the programme to ensure maximum efficiency and increase productivity. Nii Tetteh Oti, II, President, Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs was appreciative of the steps taken by the institution to keep the worker abreast with the current developments.
