Holy Rosary Junior Choir Gives to Sekondi Central Prisons.

Sekondi, Sept.20, GNA- Members of the Holy Rosary Junior Choir of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Cathedral in Takoradi on Saturday presented cartons of assorted soap valued at one million cedis to the male prisoners of the Sekondi Central Prisons.

The presentation was preceded by a church service for the inmates as part of activities marking the 35th anniversary of the choir. Preaching the sermon, Reverend Father Joseph Armah, Assistant Parish Priest of the Cathedral asked prisoners not to resign to their fate but continue to pray because God has not forsaken them.

He said they should see themselves as children of God, commit their lives into His hands and resolve to lead righteous lives after serving their sentences.

“Don’t look down on yourselves, or think that you are the worse people, there are very influential people who commit worse crimes daily, the only difference between you and such people is that society has not found them out, but God sees them”.

Rev. Armah advised the inmates to make the period of their incarceration beneficial by turning to God for forgiveness. Mr. William Offei-Twum, Welfare Officer and Chaplain of the Prisons received the items.
