High Court Staff Upgrade Knowledge

Accra (GAR), July 3, A one-day seminar for High Court Registrars, Administrative officers, and Regional Accountants of the Judicial Service and sectional heads at the Head Office was held in Accra today. The seminar which was attended by 40 participants was on “Disbursement of subvention for the High Courts.” In an address, Alhaji Dramani Yakubu, Judicial Secretary, again repeated that the judiciary is independent and it is capable of dispensing Justice without interference from the Ministry of justice. He said he wanted to correct the wrong impression that the Judicial Service is part of the Ministry of Justice and therefore cannot dispense justice fairly in matters affecting the Ministry. The Judicial Secretary appealed to Supervising High Court Judges in the regions not repeat not to interfere with the day-to-day administration of the Courts and urged Court Registrars and Judges to work together. Alhaji Yakubu said the Judicial Service has started the mechanisation of the Courts to ensure effective operations.
