Health directorate presents items to community based volunteers

New Edubiase (Ash), Feb 6, GNA – The Adansi East district health directorate of the Ghana Health Service last Tuesday presented 50 Community Based Surveillance Volunteers in the district with Wellington boots and rain coats for their commitment to duty.

Dr David Kwasi Amankwaah, the District Director of Health Services, who presented the items to the volunteers, assured the rest of the volunteers in the district that they will all be catered for.

Speaking at an end-of-year party for health workers in the district at New Edubiase at which the items were presented, Dr Amankwaah lauded the community based surveillance volunteers for their hard work, dedication and commitment to duty they exhibited last year which helped to uplift the image of the district in health delivery.

He said the volunteers needed to be commended for important roles they were playing in health delivery in the various communities and urged them to keep it up.

Dr Amankwaah also commended the various categories of health workers in the district for their hard work but urged them to work harder so that the service will achieve its set goals. Madam Faustina Mintah, the nurse in-charge of the Adansi-Asokwa health post, received the best worker for 2003 award.
