Half-Assini Secondary accommodates new students

Half Assini, (W/R) Oct. 16 GNA – The authorities of the Half Assini Senior High School (HASCO) in the Western Region have put in place the necessary arrangements to receive fresh students.

The assistant headmaster of the school, in charge Academic, Mr Elijah Nkrumah, who made this known to the Ghana News Agency at Half Assini, on Friday, said all the form one students who reported were accommodated.

He said the third floor of an abandoned three-storey building intended for a sixth form facility has been renovated and used as classrooms for the form one students.

Mr Nkrumah said a classroom has been converted into a girls’ dormitory, adding that, there was no accommodation problem for the boys.

The Assistant headmaster said a classroom block being constructed by African Development bank (ADB) would be ready for use by the end of the month.

Mr Nkrumah said the classroom and other structures being undertaken by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND) would also be completed soon.

He called for the completion of the building that was started in the 1970s for a sixth form block but was abandoned when the sixth form programme was abolished.

When completed it would help the school to accommodate more students.
