Gomoa West Assembly staff cautioned against partisanship

Apam (C/R), May 28, GNA – Mr Theophilus Aidoo-Mensah, District Chief Executive for Gomoa West has urged public and civil servants to remain non-partisan in the discharge of their official duties. “You are not supposed to do politics at your work places or with your work,” he cautioned the staff of the Gomoa West Assembly at his first meeting with them.

“You must be loyal to the government of the day and help to implement its policies and programmes”, he said. “We must all resolve to work harder than before to improve the living conditions of our people,” he said.

The DCE assured the staff that no one would be victimized under his administration on the basis of politics, religion or ethnicity and urged them to work within the confines of the laws of the district assembly concept.

He advised the staff not to use the opportunity they had to work in the Assembly as a licence to look mean on the citizens of the area. “The opportunity was given to you and me to serve the people but not to lord it over them,” he said.
