Bibiani GoldStars remain optimistic about overturning their first-leg defeat to JS Kabylie in the CAF Champions League, according to the club’s Chief Executive Officer, Akwasi Adu.
GoldStars fell 2-0 at home to the Algerian giants, leaving them with a mountain to climb ahead of the return fixture. But Adu insists the team is far from discouraged.
“We are equally mapping out our plans and strategies to get the players on their toes when we get to Kabylie,” he told Citi Sports. “We are not perturbed by the results that happened the last time. It’s still football. A club has come to score 2-0 at our home, we can equally turn around the results.”
The Ghanaian side will need to deliver a near-perfect performance in Algeria to stand any chance of progression, but Adu’s remarks underline the belief within the camp that the tie is far from over.
For the fans, it’s now a question of whether GoldStars can turn faith into results on one of Africa’s toughest stages.
