GNPC To Evaluate Companies Bidding For Barge Power Project

Accra (GAR), June 23, – The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) will by the end of July finish evaluating the commercial proposals of seven companies which today bid for its Power Plant Barge Project. A statement issued by the corporation in Accra said a report will be submitted to OECF of Japan, sponsor of the project, for approval before the winning bidder for each package, is announced. Bids were opened at the GNPC’s head office, Tema, in the presence of the companies’ representatives and the GNPC’s consultants, EPDCI- JCI of Japan and Sogelerg of Paris. Bidders for the Power Plant Barge Package one are Marubeni Corporation, Mitsui Engineering and Shipbuilding Co., Mitsui and Co Ltd/ Ansaldo Energia, Spie Enertrans/ Kanematsu/ Lisnave and Turbotecnica and Sumitomo Corporation. ABB SAE Sadelmi and Norelec bid for the 161 kv transmission line, the second package. The statement said the technical proposals of bidders have been adjudged to be technically responsive.
