GJA to hold Clinic on its Awards

Accra, May 19, GNA – The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) will on Wednesday, May 20, hold a clinic on its annual awards competition for interested journalists and media houses that wish to submit entries for this year.

A statement signed by Mr. Bright Blewu, General Secretary, said interested members especially Editors and News Editors were invited to the clinic which would examine all aspects of the awards including the quality of entries and standard of assessment. The clinic, according to the statement, would be addressed by Mr Berifi Apenteng, a Media Consultant and Chairman of the 2008 Awards Committee, Mr Kweku Rockson, Lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Journalism and Chairman of the 2007 Awards Committee. The rest are Dr Doris Dartey, Communication Educator and a member of both the 2007 and 2008 Awards Committees, the GJA President, Mr Ransford Tetteh and Mr Blewu.

The statement said the clinic is sponsored by MTN which is also the main sponsor of the 14th GJA Awards scheduled for 15th August 2009. The closing date for the submission of entries is 1700 hours on May 25.
