GJA, NLA partner for sanitation exercise

The Northern Regional Chapter of the Ghana Journalists’ Association (GJA), and the National Lottery Authority NLA), have partnered to take part in Saturday’s National Sanitation Exercise in the Tamale Metropolis.

As part of the partnership, journalists in Tamale and staff of NLA in the Northern Region will clean various public places in the metropolis, to promote clean environment for a healthy society.

Speaking at a meeting of journalists and NLA officials in Tamale on Thursday, Mr Caesar Abagali, Northern Regional Chairman of GJA said the move formed part of efforts by both institutions to support government’s initiative to ensure clean environment.

Mr Abagali commended NLA for its commitment towards sanitation issues in the countrym by agreeing to support the GJA to undertake the sanitation exercise in the metropolis.

Mr Fiifi Amissah, Deputy Director-General of NLA, said the Authority was grateful to be part of the National Sanitation exercise, which would help prevent the outbreak of diseases, including Cholera.

Mr Amissah said “It is our expectation that by the end of this exercise, NLA and the Northern Regional chapter of GJA would have established strong bonds that would see developing a strategy to maintain a clean and sanitized environment in the Tamale Metropolis.”
