Give support to elected representatives to the assemblies

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asante-Akim South, Mr. De-graft Fokuo, has rallied people in the area to give more support to their elected assembly members to enable them to perform.

They should cooperate and stand solidly with them every step of the way to speed up the development of the communities.

Mr. Fokuo made the call when he joined the chiefs and people of Morso to cut the grass on the shoulders of the eight-kilometre road leading to the town.

The exercise lasted for more than three hours.

The DCE asked that nobody sat on the sidelines, saying, they needed to work together to make things happen – transform their living conditions.

He commended the people for their self-help spirit and said, that needed to be sustained.

He gave the assurance that the assembly would assist communities that took the initiative to tackle the development challenges facing them with the necessary resources – technical, material and financial.

Mr. Eric Darkwa, a youth Leader, who led the people to undertake the exercise, said they were encouraged by the DCE’s presence and pledged to continue to take steps to address the felt needs of the community.
