Ghanaians urged to unite for a common goal

Mr Kofi Mintah, a founding member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has appealed to Ghanaians to unite for the development of the country and refuse people who would divide their front for political power.

“Let us see ourselves, first and foremost, as Ghanaians with a common destiny. If we all have a common destiny, why then do we fight among ourselves and even think about destroying the nation because of political power?”

Mr Mintah, a Winneba-based contractor, said this when he addressed “Enidaso Kuw”, a social club at a get-together held at Winneba Junction on Sunday.

He expressed disappointment about reported cases of disturbances over the ongoing biometric voters’ registration exercise in certain parts of the country and asked “if we cannot organise registration exercise peacefully how then can we vote?”

He urged Ghanaians to learn lessons from events in some African countries and desist from beating war-drums.

Mr Mintah commended members of the Enidaso Kuw for co-existing peacefully and urged them to extend it into the communities in which they lived.

Mr Charles Okyere, Patron of the Club, appealed to the members to be time conscious in all their dealings and called on the members to be regular and punctual at the club’s activities.

Mr Okyere reminded them of the non-partisanship of the club and said no one would be tolerated to use the club to champion his or her political ambition.**
