Ghanaian Striker Ferdinand Takyi Joins German Side Worpswede on Free Transfer

Ghanaian striker Ferdinand Takyi has signed for German club Worpswede following the expiry of his contract with Brinkumer SV.

The 30-year-old forward joins the lower-league side on a free transfer and brings with him a wealth of international experience, having played in Austria, England, Latvia, Italy and Norway during his career.

Standing tall at 6ft 4in (1.93m), Takyi is known for his aerial prowess and physical presence in the box. The move to Worpswede marks the latest chapter in the journeyman striker’s well-travelled footballing career.

Speaking after the announcement, Takyi said he is excited about the new challenge and eager to help his new side push forward.

“I’ve played in many countries, but Germany has always felt like home to me,” he told local media. “I’m here to give my all and contribute however I can.”

Takyi began his career in Ghana before moving abroad in search of professional opportunities, building a reputation as a reliable target man across multiple European leagues.

Worpswede will hope the Ghanaian’s experience and leadership can add firepower to their attack as they look to climb the table this season.
